The Alternative Board TAB, is an international membership organization of thousands of CEOs, presidents, business owners and partners worldwide who are dedicated to improving their businesses. TAB organizes Boards of up to 12 non-competing companies who collectively have hundreds of years of business experience. Meeting monthly, guided by a Certified Facilitator, your fellow TAB Board members will help you redefine your role in your company and develop, and stay on target to meet and exceed your personal and business goals. Confidential frank discussions at TAB meetings help you determine what you need to change in your managerial and organizational approaches and open your eyes to new alternatives and opportunities.

As you learn about the challenges of fellow members' businesses, you'll view things from a broader perspective - and you'll avoid mistakes by learning how other members faced and solved the same problems. Seventy-five to 80 percent of issues discussed at TAB Board Meetings involve topics that all privately owned businesses have in common. Because your board members are not from your industry, they are not locked into your way of thinking ...they can help you think "outside the box."

Jacquelyn Gernaey is President and founder of HyTech Consulting, a management consulting firm based on Long Island, NY and founded in 1994. She has more than twenty five years experience leading both entrepreneurial and large corporations and now focuses helping CEOs, presidents, owners and partners create, execute and exceed their personal and business success goals. This is accomplished through sales, marketing and management consulting, pre and post employment assessments, executive coaching and facilitating peer boards of business owners. HyTech has completed projects on and off Long Island in strategic planning, S-1 preparation, risk analysis, contract negotiations, operations and organization optimization, profit improvement, cost control, sales territory organization, sales training, and marketing planning and analyses.

In 1999 Gernaey became a Certified Facilitator for
The Alternative Board TAB. TAB is a selective, by invitation only, membership organization made up of Presidents, CEOs, and Owners who meet in small structured boards on a monthly basis to improve the profitability of their companies. She is the first woman to purchase a franchise in TAB and currently facilitates three boards of directors meetings. She is also a mentor to other facilitators.


Prior to starting HyTech, she was the first woman President of a 25 million
dollar 200 employee, division of American Home Products, an 8.5 billion
dollar corporation. She has also served as Vice President of Sales,
Marketing and Business Development for United Biomedical, Inc. a vaccine,
therapeutics and diagnostics company and acted as General Manager for the
Diagnostics Division. Gernaey has held sales and marketing management
positions at several other companies including American Hospital Supply
Corporation and Baxter Healthcare Corporation.

Active in her community, Gernaey serves on the local Zoning Board of
Appeal, is a member of the Small Business Council of the Hauppauge
Industrial Association, volunteers in the Port Jefferson Historical Society
and is a member or the Port Jefferson Rotary. She is an Elder in her
church and has served on the church management committee.

John Sasso is the President of Insight Consulting, an independent management-consulting firm based on Long Island. His company specializes in assisting small to medium sized privately owned companies with their profit and growth plans.

John has extensive experience in developing business plans, marketing strategies, product development plans and arranging for the out-sourcing of operations and materials to low cost factories in Asia and Mexico. During his more than 25 years as a top level executive, he succeeded in acquiring strategic companies, turning around troubled businesses, consolidating mergers and acquisitions, and leading a management buyout and a subsequent initial public offering. His efforts have consistently resulted in sales growth and profit improvement for the companies involved, whose sales range from $4M to $100M.

Sasso is that rare breed of consultant that can back the advice he gives to his clients with actual hands-on experience with multinational companies. He has six successful acquisitions to his credit, and managed the integration of eleven companies whose cumulative revenues exceed $270M. John turned-around five troubled businesses, achieving an overall 43% increase in revenues and 20% profit improvement. Earlier he gained a technical background in software and systems development, followed by sales, sales management and marketing. He is a graduate of Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Economics.
